I should have gotten one a long time ago. I love this thing. It arrived on time, in excellent condition and it works great.
Apparently the outer case hadn't been snapped together completely. However, when I plugged the power cord into the hub, I discovered the inner card (with all the ports and power plug on it) was loose in the outer casing. Just shouldn't have had to spend my time doing that.Also the usb cord is only like 15 to 20 inches long, not enough to even go from a tower sitting on the floor to the top of the desk. this was probably a fluke, but since it affected me, I still feel compelled to put it in the review. When I got my product, I immediately went to plug it in. After some fiddling around though, I finally got it together, but it took a relatively large amount of force and several minutes of trying to line up the snaps just right, which was difficult since the stubborn ones were in the middle on the inside and therefore blocked from view.
The quality control is lacking on this product (and the ac connector is way too short). I've never had any device do that to my iMac. I generally have good luck with Belkin' products, but not so with this one. In two days with six devices plugged in the hub got really really hot and froze my iMac computer screen. I have mailed it back for a refund.
I thought I was buying something new but it appears to have been used. The wires had been tied together with a twist tie and was not too presentable to be a new item.
Works like a charm. I have this mounted below the desk and with so many devices needed to upgrade to a larger port and newer 2.0 technology. Good buy.
